Brief About West Godavari District
West Godavari History
Rich in Agriculture. Rice, Sugar are important crops. Most of
the people belongs to agriculture & education is moderate in the
people. Most People live in villages. Urbanisation is less as most
people live in remote areas. Sea food cultivation is also important
in the district. Tanuku is famous for Andhra Sugar Factory. Ceramics
was another industry developed in the district. There is a jute
mill in the district headquarters i.e, Eluru. ONGC had footage at
Narsapuram. Apart of this, there is no significant industrialization
in the district. Economy is mostly agricultural based. West godavary
is famous for its intensive aggriculture and it is known as "annapurna"
meaning rice bowl of andhra pradesh. |
